News 4 goes to Buckingham Palace

LONDON, ENGLAND (WIVB) — Bills fans can’t get enough of Buckingham Palace.

“It’s beautiful we love it it’s just so nice,” said Courtney, a Buffalo resident in London with her husband for the game.

The royal family has called the magnificent grounds home since the 1800s. A lot of traditions still exist.

The royal horses marched by News 4’s cameras after the changing of the guard ceremony.

Fans also have their traditions.

For a few Bills fans, tailgating with their family and following the team has been in their blood for years.

Fans will travel thousands of miles to watch their team play.

The trips turn into something much more than just a game. It’s PR paradise for Visit Buffalo Niagara, in London to promote the city.

Pat Kaler, the president and CEO is meeting with about 15 U.K. journalists to spread the word about Buffalo’s rebirth.

Kaler wants to show UK fans why they should make the trip to our neck of the woods. He says teaming up with the Bills just made sense. He wants to show UK fans traveling to the Queen City will be worth it.

Visit Buffalo Niagara will be training 60 travel agents to get them excited about Buffalo so they can sell trips to people asking about trips to say Niagara Falls, for example.

The hope is that one day we will hear more British accents in the Queen City.
