Honor Flight Buffalo takes off on flight 18

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Honor Flight Buffalo wrapped up its 2015 season Sunday with 26 World War II WNY heroes.

Theses hometown heroes waited seven decades see their memorial and range in ages 89 to 99.

Some of the servicemen were recipients of Purple Hearts, Bronze and Silver Stars. One was a Prisoner of War for more than four years.

Honor Flight Buffalo is a not-for-profit all-volunteer charity organization that flies World War II veterans to see the memorial in Washington, DC.
This one day trip is a way of saying thank you to all those who served.
