SHERMAN, N.Y. (WIVB) — A large facility typically used for auctioning off animals in Chautauqua County went up in flames early Thursday morning.

Crews from across the county rushed to respond to the large fire, captured on camera by many bystanders, that broke out around 3 a.m. The auction house, stationed on Route 430 just outside of Sherman, holds weekly auctions.

According to ChautauquaToday.com, the fire didn’t completely destroy the building, and auction house officials suggest they’ll be able to have auctions again by next week.

Reports say nobody suffered injury in the blaze and the only animal inside the barn escaped the fire.

Investigators will continue to investigate the flames. Watch the video below, or click here if on the News 4 App.
