Moose Lodge administrator resigns, is accused of stealing $10,000

EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) — After the abrupt resignation of their Moose Lodge Administrator, members of Lodge #370 in East Aurora called on police to investigate missing funds.

Officers in East Aurora say they began the investigation of a large amount of missing money on Oct. 7, putting a detective on the case. After investigating, police say they arrested the former lodge administrator, identified as David P. Wheeler.

The 48-year-old man had been the administrator of the lodge since 2013 before his abrupt resignation. Wheeler now faces charges of third degree and fourth degree grand larceny after police say they learned he stole $10,000.

A judge released Wheeler on a promise to return to court at a later date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
