Cops catch man driving nearly triple the speed limit with a kid aboard

SHELDON, N.Y. (WIVB) — While on patrol over the weekend. officers say they stopped a man driving nearly three times the legal speed limit.

Officers say they stopped Elmer Heinrich as he sped past them on Perry Road in Sheldon. Police say their radar recorded a top speed of 91 miles per hour before they chased him down on the 35 miles per hour road.

During the traffic stop, officers say they noticed a 1-year-old child aboard the vehicle. Heinrich faces charges of sped in zone and endangering the welfare of a child.
