Reports suggest Kane will not face criminal charges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A “Buffalo News” report suggested that Chicago Blackhawks player and western New York native, Patrick Kane will not be facing criminal charges after being accused of rape.

Three months ago, Kane was accused of raping a woman in his Hamburg home.

Kane did not wish to speculate on the Buffalo News report, saying he’d like the case to be over.

He is waiting for the District Attorney to make a decision. Kane says his lawyers told him the case may be taking so long because the prosecutor is on vacation.

“I’d obviously be looking forward to any type of conclusion whatever it may be. I just kind of want to wait for a decision, but like I said before, for me to comment on anything sources say or any reports would be against what we’ve been saying this whole time,” says Kane.

The DA says his accuser’s mother made a false claim about evidence tampering, which started another investigation that concluded with the mother being wrong about her claims of evidence tampering. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
