LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — Mariah Long, a robbery suspect who was being evaluated at a Lockport hospital last week, is set to appear in court in Lockport Wednesday.
Long had been scheduled to be in Lockport City Court for a formal attorney hearing Monday morning, but the attorney who she has on retainer was not present in court, so the hearing was rescheduled for Wednesday morning.
Long is also due in court in Niagara Falls Wednesday.
The 19-year-old faces a long list of charges, including felony escape, in relation to last week’s escape from Eastern Niagara Hospital. Those are on top of the charges she faces as a suspect in a Niagara Falls robbery.
Long was being watched by a corrections officer at the hospital early last Tuesday morning when she allegedly asked to go to the restroom and ran off.
Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies and New York State Police later found her in a black pickup truck on Woodlawn avenue around 4 a.m.
Authorities used K-9 units, foot patrols and even a helicopter in the search.
