BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police have identified two men who were killed in a shooting on Fillmore avenue on Friday evening.
Jermaine Moss, 21, was declared dead at the scene. Norman Fullenweider, 19, died later at ECMC.
Police say the two men were sitting in a parked car on Friday evening when two gunmen shot them and fled the scene on foot.
Community leaders think the incident was related to gang violence.
A group called Buffalo Peacemakers wants to speak with Mayor Byron Brown this week to talk about the issue of gang violence.
Buffalo Peacemakers goes into neighborhoods and tries to build relationships with gang members in an attempt to stop violence and crime.
Pastor James Giles thinks four of the recent shootings on Buffalo’s East Side are connected.
“There are at least six groups that are on. They’re packing. They’ve got weapons and it’s tragic that they have such access to these very deadly arms. You’re seeing some of the retaliations from some of that stuff that’s being done,” Giles said.
Homicide detectives continue their investigation and are asking anybody with information to call police at (716) 847-2255.
