Man arrested for impersonating a State Trooper in Lockport

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Troopers have arrested a man in Lockport who was falsely representing himself as a State Trooper.

Richard L. Godfrey, 46, of Cambria was charged with criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and harassment.

Lawmen say he was on a bicycle when he knocked on the door of a home on Ridge Road in the Town of Lockport saying he was a trooper and requesting assistance.

Patrols confronted him a short time later when he became combative and threatened to harm the Trooper several times.
