Teen strikes pedestrian near Ralph Wilson Stadium

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Sunday night, shortly before 9 p.m., Orchard Park Police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck near Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Officers arrived at the scene on Southwestern Boulevard west of Abbot Road to find an unresponsive man on the ground.

The man, identified as a 47-year-old Canadian resident, was running across a street and was thrown by the impact of the vehicle that hit him.

He was taken to Erie County Medical Center where he was reported in fair condition following surgery.

The westbound vehicle that struck the man was being driven by a 16-year-old Hamburg resident. Neither he or his mother were injured.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
