BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A crew of five Buffalo gang members pleaded guilty to federal charges related to gang-associated crimes on Tuesday.
Federal officials announced the convictions of Johnny Rounds, Donald Rounds, Ricky Proctor, Lorenzo Hunt and Demario Stewart, each on charges of racketeering conspiracy involving murder and drug dealing.
Police say the five gang members committed violent acts while trafficking drugs on Buffalo’s east side. Their territory included Reed, Detroit, Townsend and Coit Streets intersecting with Broadway Street. While trafficking drugs, gang members reportedly murdered rival gang members to defend their drug territory.
The mentioned murders included the 2009 murders of Brandon Haugabook, Larry Crosland and Shawn Kozma.
When sentenced, each man faces up to between 18 years behind bars 25 years behind bars.
