Lancaster PD investigating overnight vehicle thefts

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — Lancaster Police say they have taken several reports of residents’ vehicles being burglarized overnight in the village.

On Facebook, the Police Department posted a number of tips to help prevent future crimes. Here is what they said:

  • Please remember to remove all valuables from your vehicles or put them out of sight in the trunk or a locked compartment.
  • Make sure that your vehicle is locked and windows are up. All of the vehicles entered recently were not locked.
  • Try to park in a well-lit area.
  • Be watchful for suspicious persons or activity in your neighborhood, especially near vehicles and after dark.
