Man charged with DWI after crashing into utility pole

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Clarence man is facing charges of driving while under the influence after a crash on Monday night.

Officers say they responded to Goodrich Road in Clarence at about 11:30 p.m. to find a car stopped in a yard after crashing into a utility pole and a fence.

First responders rushed to the scene and treated Kevin Collins, 22, for injuries to his head and face, then brought him to the Erie County Medical Center. After investigation by Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies, police say they decided to charge him with driving under the influence of drugs.

In addition to DWI, police charged Collins with three vehicle and traffic infractions.

Police say Collins will return to court on Dec. 10. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
