4 Things to Watch for as the Bills meet the Jets

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Bills win tonight could bump the Jets out of second place in the AFC East, but playoff implications aren’t the only thing that make this prime time match up one to watch. Here are four things to watch for in the game:

  • It’s Rex’s Return to New York: But he’s not the only one going up against his old team. He brought 11 Jet coaches with him to One Bills Drive, and he chose former Jets players IK Enempali and Matthew Mulligan as this week’s captains.
  • Buffalo In Their Blood: There are some former Bills faces in the Jets locker room too. Head coach Chan Gailey and Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick both left the team in 2012. Gailey is now the Jets Offensive Coordinator, and Fitzpatrick will start tonight at QB.
  • Staying Healthy: Running Back LeSean McCoy and Receiver Sammy Watkins were key targets for Quarterback Tyrod Taylor in Sunday’s win over the Dolphins, but both were limited in practice this week. They are expected to be active tonight despite their injuries. It’s unclear what roles they will be able to play in the offense.
  • Road Warriors? The Bills are 2 and 1 on the road this season, but this next stretch will be the true test of their strength away from home. The have five road games over the next six weeks. Next, they head to Foxboro for Monday Night Football against the Patriots.

You can watch the game on WIVB. Kickoff is at 8;25, but tune in at 7:30 for News 4’s pregame show.
