Coast Guard responds to water rescue at Erie Basin Marina

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The U.S. Coast Guard had to be called in after two men were seen on a sandbar off of the Erie Basin Marina in very choppy water.

A witness says she saw the men duck hunting.

That same witness tells News 4 she called the Department of Environmental Conversation to report the alleged incident.

News 4’s Rich Newberg was at the scene where he says the men refused comment and rushed away from cameras after they were rescued.

The men are pictured below pulling their boat out of Buffalo’s outer harbor.
