BUFFALO, N.Y.(WIVB)- The man who jumped from a third story window at Buffalo Police headquarters got a hospital visit from a judge Thursday afternoon.
City Court Judge Diane Wray went to ECMC to arraign 33 year old Timothy DiCenzo, who si still recovering after what police consider an attempt to escape custody.
It was Tuesday night at Buffalo Police Headquarters, when detectives who were interviewing him report that DiCenzo kicked and pulled at the 3rd story window in the Sex Offense Squad Office Interview room, breaking it. He fell three stories and was caught on the sidewalk below.
Moments before, he had just been placed under arrest for an incident a year ago. It was around sunrise, September 22 of last year, when a woman waiting at a bus stop accused him of forcibly touching her. That happened at the corner of Stevenson and Cumberland, about four blocks away from Hillery Park, where just last week a college student was dragged to a secluded area and raped.
News Four has learned that investigators are now taking a much closer look at DiCenzo to see if he could be connected to the Hillery Park rape, or any other attacks on women. Police have asked us not to show his photo because it is an ongoing investigation.
What police did release to the public last week was a surveillance video that they believe shows the man responsible for the Hillery Park rape.
South Buffalo residents like Deena John have been on edge ever since. “Yea, it’s definitely on my mind, especially knowing a lot of people that live around here. There’s a lot of young girls around this neighborhood.”
Colleen Appleford has lived in south Buffalo her whole life. “I know a lot of people won’t take their kids to the park anymore and they’re really scared ’cause we’ve never had this happen in South Buffalo. If he was off the street, it would be much relief.”
