Buffalo, N.Y. (WIVB) — The South Park High School football team is in uncharted territory for a City of Buffalo Public School: the state final.
The team arrived at school early Saturday morning, fresh off a 43-26 win over Maine-Endwell of Section IV. Players on that team had never lost before; the team had won 62 games in a row.
The win puts the Sparks in the state finals Friday, November 27 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.
The team’s head coach is proud of his players.
“Just very excited for everybody involved in the program, kids, families, teachers, administrators, student body. It’s been a great atmosphere for the last couple of weeks here at school and looking forward to being able to play for a state championship here this week,” said Tim Delaney, Sparks Head Coach.
