Teen driver killed, four others injured in Clarence single car rollover

CLARENCE CENTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Clarence woman is dead and four others are injured after a single car rollover closed a portion of Tonawanda Creek Road Sunday morning.

Shelby Adamczak perished in the crash.

Five people were in the vehicle, driving eastbound on Tonawanda Creek Road on Sunday before the driver crossed the line into the westbound lane. The driver eventually crashed the vehicle into a tree, fence before rolling over and coming to a rest in a nearby lawn. All five occupants were taken to the Erie County Medical Center.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Clarence resident Shelby Adamczak, later succumbed to her injuries. When authorities arrived, she was found pinned behind the steering wheel.

First responders worked to save the lives of those who were rushed to ECMC, however police say they are unsure of their current statuses.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
