NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Following months of investigation, police acted on arrest warrants in the City of Niagara Falls on Monday.
Police say they worked to arrest two brothers, securing the arrest of one man, however another remains at large. Deon McTyere is behind bars, charged with second degree murder and second degree criminal possession of a weapon. His twin brother Keon McTyere is expected to turn himself in, but is wanted until he is in police custody.
The brothers are named in the murder case of Fajiri Hilson, a 31-year-old man, who died on Aug. 22. Police say the twin 22-year-old brothers walked up to Hilson’s vehicle on either side on the morning of Aug. 22, firing volleys of gunshots into the car, killing Hilson.
Police say Hilson suffered roughly 10 gunshot wounds before being pronounced dead at the Niagara Falls Medical Center.
The twin brothers allegedly fled on foot, and police say they have had a hard time convincing witnesses to take part in the case. Police are hoping once the brothers are both behind bars, more witnesses will come forward.
Anybody with information on the case is asked to call police at 716) 286-4553.
