BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A 7-year-old boy from Buffalo is making a big delivery to the Buffalo City Mission. He wants to give back this Thanksgiving, so he collecting pies to feed local families.
Michael Brennan is donating 221 pies. News 4 caught up with him and his proud parents as they made the big hand-off. This all started because Brennan wanted to volunteer with the City Mission this Thanksgiving.
The good news is, they already had enough volunteer on Thanksgiving day. But they did need pie. With his parents help, Brennanl put out a “pie S.O.S.” out to family and friends on Facebook.
By Monday afternoon, pies started arriving at his house. Wednesday, truckloads filled with pie pulled up to drop off the pie at the City Mission.
Sue Cervi, Manager of Volunteers at the City Mission, said, “t’s the young folks that do it, it’s absolutely amazing. They might be little but they are so capable and really bless us beyond imagination.”
Jessica Link, Brennan’s mom, said, “It started with him going through old toys and him understanding that. When we see people in need we always give. It’s always been something that’s a big part of our family.”
His parents say they couldn’t be more proud of Brennan. They are also thankful to the community for supporting their son’s goal to give back.
