Lockport man accused of assaulting, injuring 1-year-old twice

TOWN OF ROYALTON, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Police in Lockport charged a man with 1st and 2nd degree assault after they say he broke a child’s ribs and caused them other internal injuries.

State Police say two separate incidents occurred where Samuel Figueroa, 32, assaulted a child.

Figueroa admitted to kicking the 22-month-old child from behind while caring for them at his girlfriend’s home, according to State Police. Authorities say he also injured the child’s ribs while disciplining them.

Figueroa was committed to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
