West Seneca teens in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

NEW YORK (WIVB) — Two local teens from West Seneca marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday morning.

Madalyn Stencel and Dominic Cascio were part of the Macy’s Great American Marching Band. They’ve been in New York City since Saturday learning the music and drills for the event.

The pair had to audition for the marching band earlier this year. About 200 students from around the nation were selected.

Madalyn plays the clarinet and Dominic plays the french horn. They were very excited to be a part of the event.

The two got on a bus at 1 a.m. Thursday for a rehearsal at 3 a.m.

“There’s a lot of stuff going on. Either we’re practicing or outside sightseeing,” says Stencel.

The parade started at 9 a.m. Thursday. The two also performed at Harold’s Square after it ended at Noon.
