UK police say stabbing treated as ‘terrorist incident’

LONDON (AP) — Britain’s Scotland Yard says a stabbing incident at a London Underground station is being treated as “terrorist incident.”

The London police counterterror command says in a statement late Saturday that it is investigating the incident at Leytonstone Underground station in east London.

Authorities were called to the station at around 7 p.m. to investigate reports of “a number of people” stabbed. One person sustained serious injuries.

One person was arrested.

The authorities did not say why they believe the incident was terror-related.
