Cheko’s Crew gang members plead guilty to racketeering-related charges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul announced Monday that two members of the Cheko’s Crew/7th Street gang have pleaded guilty to Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy.

Jordan Hidalgo, 24, and Ritchie Juarbe, 25, could face life in prison and/or a $250,000 fine.

“This case demonstrates that when it comes to murder – or indeed any gang activity – our Office will pursue relentlessly until every perpetrator is brought to justice,” said Hochul.

The gang was responsible for narcotics distribution and many acts of violence on the West Side between 2000 and 2012.

Hidalgo admitted to shooting and killing Raquan Lloyd in 2008. Juarbe admitted to getting rid of the murder weapon by throwing it in the Niagara River.

Authorities say Hidalgo and Juarbe were also involved in the 2009 murder of rival gang member Eric Morrow.

The two will be sentenced in April of 2016. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
