Local man honored for saving 4-year-old

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A local man is receiving accolades after he saved a 4-year-old boy who survived on his own for two days.

Taijuan Littleton was honored by the Erie County Legislature on Thursday after he discovered the death of a local woman and the survival of her child. Littleton, a Rent-A-Center employee called to confirm a scheduled an appointment and investigated further when a child answered the phone instead of an adult.

Littleton rescued the child after learning his mother had died due to an accident in her home.

“It was a tragic thing that happened,” Littleton said. “All I wish is that he grows up … and has a life to live.”

The Erie County Legislature declared Dec. 17 as Taijuan Littleton Day for his efforts.

The child currently is living with his relatives.
