Man accused of beating son to death in church is offered plea deal

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) — Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara says Bruce Leonard, a man accused of beating his son to death in church, has been offered a plea deal, according to CBS affiliate WSTM.

During a court appearance on Tuesday, Leonard was given a new attorney along with the offer of a plea deal. Seven other defendants in the case were previously offered plea deals.

It is not clear what Leonard’s plea deal entails, but he will be back in court January 19, according to WSTM. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
