Police: East Aurora man shoots Arcade residence while hunting

ARCADE, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Police say an East Aurora man hunting in the Town of Arcade missed his shot and hit a home.

State Police say Gregory Messing, 44, shot at a deer while hunting west of Michigan Road. His shot did not hit the deer, and instead struck an occupied home in the Triton Valley Estates.

The home was more than 1700 feet from where Messing fired his rifle. No one was injured.

Messing was charged with reckless endangerment and released on an appearance ticket for Arcade Town Court.
