Santa visits infants at Sisters Hospital

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Parents often send Christmas cards with pictures of their kids on Santa’s lap.

Sometimes, Santa has to make a special trip for this annual tradition to be possible. Even the tiniest boys and girls are on Santa’s list. He recently checked in on a few of them at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo.

“We didn’t expect her to be around for Santa this year. She was supposed to show up in February, but it’s a nice surprise,” says Keith Buckley.

The Buckleys’ daughter, Zuzana, came 10 weeks early, at the end of November. They didn’t think they would get to take pictures of her with Santa until next year.

Theresa Winner, a neonatal clinical nurse specialist at the hospital, says, “We try to incorporate Santa to those parents who are not going to have their baby at home with them so that they can feel a little bit of what the holiday spirit is really about.”

The Buckleys will have the pictures to remember their early Christmas present, and her first visit with Santa. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
