Lockport woman charged under Leandra’s Law Saturday

Town of Lockport, N.Y. (WIVB) — A City of Lockport woman is in the Niagara County Jail accused of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol with a baby in her car.

Lisa Summerlee, 46, was driving west on Rochester Road in Royalton Saturday evening, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies followed a car after receiving reports it was moving erratically, and stopped the car in the Town of Lockport.

Police determined Summerlee was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and arrested her; they charged her under Leandra’s Law because her granddaughter, age 7 months, was in the back seat, according to deputies.

Summerlee is charged with driving on the shoulder, driving while ability impaired by drugs, Felony Leandra’s Law and endangering the welfare of a child.
