Albion man accused of setting sleeping roommate on fire

ALBION, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man in Albion is accused of setting another man on fire while he was sleeping Thursday morning.

Albion Police responded to the alleged incident on West State Street in the village to find the suspect, Frank G. Carter, II, 50, in the street holding a knife. He was then taken into custody.

The victim lives with Carter, according to police. Police say Carter poured flammable liquid on the victim as he slept on a bed. He then ignited the liquid, causing burns to the victim’s hands and feet, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Carter faces felony charges of assault and attempted arson. He is also charged with reckless endangerment of property.
