Apartment evacuated because of suspicious device

LOCKPORT N.Y. (WIVB) — Tenants of an apartment building in Lockport are back in their homes after a bomb scare Thursday night.

Police said a new tenant was removing ceiling tiles to paint them when a suspicious device fell out.

This happened on Genesee Street. The bomb squad was called to remove the device.

No one was hurt. People were out of their apartments for a little more than an hour. Police are still investigating.
