LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB)- The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a motorist reporting a reckless driver around 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

The vehicle in question was traveling northbound on S. Transit Rd. and turned westbound onto Robinson Rd. Patrols were dispatched to the area and intercepted the vehicle on Lockport Rd. just west of Bear Ridge Rd.

Upon stopping the vehicle, Deputies discovered the vehicle to be operated by 19 year-old Trevor Kureczka. After being given field sobriety tests, he was charged with DWI.

A total of eight passengers ranging in age from 15 to 20 were also in the vehicle. Two of the occupants were 15 years of age, which resulted in two separate counts of Leandra’s law violations. Two passengers were also found in the trunk of the vehicle, which resulted in an additional two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
