Town of Tonawanda authorities to play charity hockey game Saturday

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Town of Tonawanda Police and the Ellwood Fire Company will play an annual charity hockey game on Saturday to benefit “Wings — Flights of Hope.”

The mission of “Wings” is to provide free air transportation for “medical and humanitarian purposes.” Town of Tonawanda Police Officer Tim Day, who recently received a heart transplant, was helped by the organization.

The game will take place January 16 at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln Arena on Decatur Road.

The event is free to attend but donations are accepted.
