If Sabres are sellers, who could be on the move?

Trade deadline six weeks away as Sabres evaluate options

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Buffalo Sabres appear to be sellers once again leading up to the Feb. 29th NHL trade deadline, barring an unforeseen playoff run.

Sabres GM Tim Murray said as much to ESPN.com earlier this week, noting his intent to try to move veterans – especially those with expiring contracts – for younger pieces if such an opportunity presents itself.

The Sabres have five expiring contracts on the roster: Goaltender Chad Johnson, forwards Jamie McGinn and David Legwand, and defensemen Mike Weber and Carlo Colaiacovo.

Johnson and McGinn in particular are having good seasons and may be intriguing to playoff teams in need of more depth.
