BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The giving spirit of Ralph Wilson Jr. continues each time his foundation disburses funds in his name, this time a large donation will benefit the Food Bank of WNY. to help it accomplish critical goals, including capital improvements and an expansion of its Mobile Food Pantry program.
The official donation takes place on Tuesday, Jan. 19, with members of the foundation and the Food Bank in attendance.
After the donation ceremony, foundation members will help the Food Bank distribute food in the Mobile Food Pantry, serving guests. The Food Bank of WNY serves over 116,000 guests each year through all of its services.
The mission of the Food Pantry falls squarely in line with Wilson’s directive to his foundation after his death in March of 2014. Wilson wanted his $1.2 billion to be distributed to those who will make good use of it and understand why his foundation distributed the funds.
