Snowmobilers rescued after crashing in North Collins

NORTH COLLINS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies say two snowmobilers were rescued after crashing on a trail in the Town of North Collins.

Dispatchers say they received a phone call about a two snowmobilers who crashed shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday.

The two involved in the crash were located by authorities who used cell phone coordinates and an enhanced 911 system to find them.

At the scene, one male victim was found unconscious while the other had leg injuries, according to deputies. They were taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
