Rural Metro gets new air ambulance to help transport patients

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Rural Metro’s recent takeover by AMR has provided them with a new air ambulance.

The air ambulance will be operated locally by Rural Metro and provides specialty service for patients that need to seek medical attention at facilities further away.

“We can not only transport patients who have a need for specialty services but if there happens to be a patient in the area that needs to relocate themselves, get back to their home, we can accommodate that for them now as well,” said Jay Smith, a division general manager with Rural Metro.

AMR’s air ambulance provides services across the country, including the Cleveland Clinic and more locations in and out of state.
