Small fire breaks out at Richardson Complex site

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Crews responded to a small fire on the first floor of the historic Richardson Complex site around noon Sunday.

The fire caused around $2,000 worth of damage and there are no reported injuries.

The cause remains under investigation.

The complex, formerly the Buffalo Psychiatric Center, began undergoing construction in 2014. It is in the midst of being renovated to a hotel and event space expected to be complete sometime this Fall. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
