UPDATE: Silver Alert canceled for 60-year-old man

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Officers say they’re no longer looking for a missing man who has a cognitive disorder, after asking the public for help.

Town of Tonawanda Police say 60-year-old Michael J. Hughes went missing near Center Way Motel in Tonawanda. The bald, 5’11” man is described as weighing roughly 160 pounds, and sporting a gray beard.

Hughes is a white male with blue eyes, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a green coat and a Yankees cap.

Police said they found the man safe several hours after asking the public for help in locating him.

Officers thanked the public for their help.
