BROCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — Western New York gold medal Olympian Jen Suhr has done it again — topping her own world record.

The world record holder for the women’s indoor pole vaulting took to Brockport to compete in the Golden Eagle Multi and Invitational. She topped the charts in 2013 when she cleared 5.02 meters, or 16 feet and five and a half inches.

Caught on camera on Saturday, however, Suhr rushed with pole in hand, sprang into the air and cleared 5.03 meters, or 16 feet and six inches.

Suhr has been a pride of Fredonia, with many in the area cheering her on as she competes in the Olympics. Her parents own a convenience store which recently sold a $1 million Powerball ticket.
