Woman found dead in burning McKean County home

EAST SMETHPORT, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in northwestern Pennsylvania say a 69 year-old woman found dead in a burning house appears to have died from smoke inhalation.

State police in McKean County say a passing truck driver saw the Keating Township home engulfed in flames at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday.

Smethport fire responders found the woman unresponsive at the scene. Her name hasn’t been released.

Police said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
