PUCKer Up event sees families fall in love with pets

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The SPCA and the Sabres slapped another one into the net with the PUCKer Up event, pairing up dozens of families with new pets.

SPCA officials say more than 200 people visited the event location on Ensminger Road, and more than 30 pets were adopted. That could be partially thanks to appearances by Zach Bogosnian, Ryan O’Reilly and Sabretooth.

Thirty adoptions is more than double the average number of adoptions for an average Monday by the SPCA.

The event is one of the latest in a string of community events the Sabres have taken part of in their off-time.
