Accused Buffalo credit union robbers named, charged

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A credit union robbery in Buffalo led to a car chase, with an arrest ensuing just minutes later.

Buffalo Police Department units responded to the scene of a robbery on the corner of Delaware and Hertel Avenue just before 4 p.m. Monday, after Grand Island residents Charles Henry, 43, and Samantha Brown, 34, allegedly robbed the Summit Federal Credit Union.

Witnesses on the scene said Henry fled the area, but was tailed by a security officer who delayed him for a time before he broke into a car and drove it away.

The suspected robbers did not get far, as Buffalo Police surrounded the area just minutes later, cornering the suspects and arresting Henry on the 200 block of Niagara Street. Brown was apprehended at the scene in a parking lot. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
