AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – There’s an Amherst man who says he would be the best person for the nation’s top job. Matt Robinson has lived in the town his entire life.
After watching candidates debate in this years primaries, he decided they’re not qualified, and he is the best person for the job.
His father, Bob Robinson said, “Why would Matt make a good president? He’s so outgoing. He would make friends with everybody. I think if he was president, even all of the leaders of the other countries, they would fall in line because they would see what a nice guy Matt is.”
His family says he is blessed with Down Syndrome. They say it’s brought their family together and if elected, Matt would bring the country together too. Robinson said, “(A lot of people mention you have a son born like Matthew, it’s a hardship. It isn’t. It’s a blessing, it’s a real blessing.”
Matt is a volunteer with his church and the Tonawanda Police Department. His slogan is, “Honest, courageous brave and 100% for the people.”
Matt’s nephew, Brendon said, “He’s all around good. He’s always happy. Anyone in his presence is happy. Anytime I go somewhere, he’s the first person I invite.”
There would be a few things Matt would change if elected. He said he would bring the Bills to the Superbowl and get men serving in the military back home with their families.
Brendon is his Campaign Manager and said he’s all around wonderful and everyone’s best friend. He said, “Everyone listens to him. They like being around him and he would have a good following. People would back him.”
The write-in campaign is just getting underway. Matt and Brendan plan to get out and meet people in their community heading into this summer.
