Free carbon monoxide detectors being given away in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Amanda Hansen Foundation will be giving away free carbon monoxide detectors at First Niagara Center Monday.

The giveaway will last from noon until 4 p.m. 1,500 detectors will be available.

Organizers created the event for Amanda Hansen, a teenager who died of carbon monoxide poisoning in West Seneca in 2009. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
