VIDEO: Water main break gushes from sidewalk as crews work towards fix

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A water main in the Town of Tonawanda sprung a leak Tuesday afternoon, prompting the response of Tonawanda officials.

Witnesses say they were surprised to see the gushing leak, spraying intensely at least ten feet into the sky. Joseph Deschamps, a Ben Franklin Middle School student, saw the break and grabbed his camera with his father.

The break, near the corner of Fries and Ogden Roads, sprayed for at least a half an hour as Town of Tonawanda Water Resources Department crews worked towards a fix.

News 4 has reached out to Water Resources Department officials and police, but calls have not yet been returned.
