Sheriff: Buffalo man caught with quarter pound of cocaine during traffic stop

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says a man who they say they caught with “a felony amount of cocaine” in November was arrested for cocaine possession again — this time with a quarter pound of it.

Buffalo resident Ephriam Hunter, 38, was stopped by deputies on Tuesday afternoon while driving on the ramp from Route 198 to Route 33.

Deputies say Hunter had an outstanding bench warrant and at least 10 active license suspensions.

In addition to that, officers say they found marijuana and a quarter pound of cocaine in his possession after searching the vehicle.

Hunter faces two felonies related to drugs and unlicensed operation. He was committed to the Erie County Holding Center on $25,000 bail. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
