Missing Buffalo woman’s death ruled homicide

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — After more than a week of investigation, police in Buffalo say the death of a missing woman located in a home on Rother Avenue has been ruled a homicide.

Buffalo Police say they responded to a Rother Avenue home in the afternoon of Saturday, Feb. 20. They located 42-year-old Twynett Rivers dead, and asked Erie County medical examiners to take a closer look.

Officials are now saying Rivers died due to blunt force trauma, and a homicide investigation is underway. Buffalo Police sent out a request for public help to locate Rivers on Jan. 14. They said she was missing from a group home on Sycamore since Jan. 9.
