Police impersonator is no-show in Cheektowaga Court

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Wednesday was supposed to be sentencing day for a man who admitted to impersonating a police officer, but he never showed up in Cheektowaga Town Court.

Steven Adamski, 31, was arrested last July after using red and blue flashing lights on his car to pull over at least three women. He claimed to be an Erie County Sheriff Deputy and would ask the women if they had been drinking and if they were going home for the night.

His attorney Michael D’Amico Jr. says he was led to believe that there was no court appearance scheduled for Adamski Wednesday. Cheektowaga Town Judge Paul Piotrowski issued a bench warrant for Adamski who is now in the state of Virginia.

Adamski had pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of impersonating a police officer.
