BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — After police say a local man fired a BB gun on 4- and 6-year-old girls as punishment, he’s facing serious charges in court.
Steven Scroger was arrested earlier this week when an urgent care worker treating the girls told police about their injuries. Officials soon learned the girls are his soon to be step-daughters and filed felony charges against the Concord man.
A judge read Scroger his felony charges, and brought his bail down from $75,000 to $50,000 during his appearance, along with issuing an order of protection against him for his fiance and her children.
“He’ll certainly have to find other living accommodations in the meantime, but I’m confident he’ll be able to do that,” Scroger’s lawyer David Sarkovics said. “Certainly I can’t give up any information that he and I have talked about, but I’m confident he will be able to find someplace to stay in the meantime while these matters are sorted out.”
Scroger can no longer possess guns or weapons of any kind. He’ll return to court at a later date.
